I will happily take over this one. As to fixed vs fluid, I think
personally think this is a use case where fixed width is better. We want
it to look good, and act predicatble. Fluid with layouts on my wide screen
look ridiculous and are hard to read, the eye is not used to reading
double width pages.
If done right it will be trivial to change though. ;-)
