Cruft ticket. Frankly, I don't see much need for this. IMHO widget authors
should provide a demo project to showcase their widget anyway. Also, it
isn't like the widget browser is teeming with user contributed widgets
three years after this ticket was opened.
Closing this as "wontfix".
