Here's my take: the standard widget library should include 1 calendar widget that will meet the needs of a large majority of TurboGears users. That likely means some internationalization support. IE6/Firefox/Safari browser support (this is MochiKit's official list as well). It will be easy to create add-on libraries of widgets to distribute more calendars... but the included set should cover a broad range of webapps, which means having 1 calendar that meets most needs would be good.
