Of course not!  Why would it need such privileges on your system?  It comes
from Unix, where you don't grant your programs full access to your system.  On
the other hand, the installer creates the user for you and if you don't want
to start it automatically with your system there are nice "start/stop service"
options at the menu.

You are not using a program because it does the right thing on security side
and that sounds a lot weird.
