All of that really makes sense, but the reason I've posted is that
whenever I try something like that I get 404 errors, for the example
above I get

127.0.0.1 - - "GET
/widgets/update?tg_random=1149621582021&tg_format=json HTTP/1.1" 404
1443

Before posting I tried copying and pasting some of the widget
description classes, and had the same problem, for instance
LinkRemoteFunctionDesc gave me

127.0.0.1 - - "POST
/turbogears.widgets.LinkRemoteFunction/search_linkrf HTTP/1.1" 404 1517

So why does it work in the widget browser, and not when I stick the
code in Controller.py?
