"Distributed application" is ambiguous in English: the sense you were discussing with MySQL refers to code running across several machines. When the GPL talks about a "distributed application" it means an application containing or derived from code under the GPL which is passed on for use by others. It's likely that neither you nor the MySQL representative have English as your first language, and that you were therefore talking at cross purposes. Having said all that, I too find PostgreSQL to be a stable and well-performing database. The only thing I don't like is its rather strange approach to blob data, which demands a syntax that is non-standard in the extreme. regards Steve -- Steve Holden +44 150 684 7255 +1 800 494 3119 Holden Web LLC/Ltd http://www.holdenweb.com Skype: holdenweb http://holdenweb.blogspot.com Recent Ramblings http://del.icio.us/steve.holden --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TurboGears" group.
