Yes! We're working on releasing 2.2.2 very soon.

None at all; 2.5 required two fixes to CherryPy, and both were fixes to
the test suite, not CherryPy itself. See
http://www.cherrypy.org/changeset/1272. You *may* encounter the socket
error; I just ran the test suite against CP 2.2.1 and saw no such
error.
