There are a lot of tags in master.html that support rendering that page directly. This is an example:
<meta content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" http-equiv="content-type" py:replace="''" /> My personal opinion is that these tags are more hassle than they are worth. They are distractions when I go in to edit the master files. I find XPath and Genshi tricky as it is without having to keep track of the tags that are only there for a purpose that is useless to me.
