Sorry for the delay on this. Your message got lost in my inbox because
I was apparently traveling when it was received.

The file transfer feature in our Windows native viewer is a relic of its
TightVNC heritage. That feature has remained in the code only because I
was able to maintain it without any significant changes, but it doesn't
work with our server (which is Unix/Linux-only), and it doesn't exist in
our Java-based viewer (which is the only TurboVNC Viewer available on
non-Windows platforms.) I can verify that the feature still works with
the legacy TightVNC v1.3 server but not with the latest TightVNC v2.8
server, so apparently something has changed in the RFB file transfer
protocol that makes our implementation no longer compatible.

TurboVNC, as a product, is driven by the needs of serving on-demand
Unix/Linux professional 3D applications. Mainly as a service to the
community, and so I can additional testing resource for our viewer, I
support UltraVNC as a server. However, none of my paying customers is
actually using the UltraVNC Server, so my support for that platform is
going to be more limited and low-priority. In all likelihood, unless an
organization steps up to financially sponsor the development of an
updated file transfer feature, the chances of it happening are slim to none.
