You *have* signed up to get help, it's just that you see all the mail to the mailing list. The requests for help go to all subscribers, not just a select group of 'tutors' - obviously you won't be offering solutions just yet, but maybe one day you will! This behaviour is the whole point of a mailing list, and you will find reading selected questions and answers very helpful if you are serious about learning Python.
However if you want to suspend mail delivery, visit the list info page, and sign in at the bottom of the screen with the password you were given. Once signed in you can change all sorts of settings: stopping list mail, receiving it as a daily digest, unsubscribing, etc. You could for example stop mail delivery and just look for answers to your questions in the archive.
