I attempting to control xfmedia, http://spuriousinterrupt.org/projects/xfmedia/ , via it's remote from python and I can not get a connection.
s = socket.fromfd('/tmp/xfmedia_remote.1001.0', socket.AF_UNIX, socket.SOCK_STREAM)
i get this error
</xfmedia_remote.1001.0', socket.AF_UNIX, socket.SOCK_STREAM) Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in ?
f = open('/tmp/xfmedia_remote.1001.0') Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in ? IOError: [Errno 6] No such device or address: '/tmp/xfmedia_remote.1001.0'
yet ls shows the file exists, xfmedia is working fine.
I have not done this before, but I think you need to create a _new_ socket for your end, and then connect to the other socket. Does that make more sense?
