i am trying to port a program written in C to python language. The program is reading a plain text file that uses legacy font then converting it to a unicode font file. I don't have any experience with programming besides just knowing C a little bit and just learning python in 3 days ago. Anyway, how can i declare a global variable and assign a value to it in a function?
