Try launching from the command line - you should be able to open the terminal and type idle at the prompt. You'll probably get some more useful information from the traceback when it crashes. If you copy the last line and search Google for "mac python idle crash " + line, then it might get you some good information. If not, you could copy/paste the entire traceback here and maybe someone can point you in the right direction. HTH, Wayne
