Take the internal function out of the function.

Then there is a confusion of how you print stuff.
The bigger multiples (thousand up) are defined in
data but the hundreds are defined inline. And I
never did find where zero got printed because it

and can you expand it without resorting to tkinter?

TKinter *is* Python's standard GUI toolkit.
