Until Andrew Straw has found a sponsor, you can use the work Andrew has done to build a Debian package for dfu-programmer yourself and set up a tuxdroid-repository where you can download it. There is no need to do duplicated work.I have used Andrew's work to build a Debian-package for dfu-programmer myself, works without a problem:
That's a good solution too. I thought it didn't work. I'm going to try it under ubuntu too. Maybe it's possible to upload it on the dfu-programmer sourceforge project where it would make more sense. There's already an rpm there that should work for fedora. I'll keep you updated.
