These two guys don't like each very much. This is more clear from McCain, but I think you can tell it from Obama as well. The problem they have is that most of their attack lines fall flat - and these are probably the lines that they get reinforced like hell for delivering out on the stump, so they are having trouble staying away from them.
When Obama gives specifics of his plans his lines for way up. McCain's lines go up too - though not as much - and he is spending more time on attacks than Obama is. That seems to be a mistake tonight. I suppose that kind of whispery voice (which I guess is a way to keep him softer, less mean, less grumpy) and frequent use of "my friends" works for McCain in republican town hall meetings, but I don't think it is working too well in this setting. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Like TV only smarter.
