I think Madden's better known as the brand of a video game among
younger viewers and it's that name recognition, rather than his on-air
talent, which has kept him in the booth.

He won't get fired unless he refuses to attend games or shows he
doesn't know what's going on. It's more likely NBC Sports would wait
out the season and announce a mutually agreed separation no matter how
they got it.
