Canadian comedy couple to create new CBS sitcom http://www.cbc.ca/arts/tv/story/2008/10/14/bee-jones.html
Jason Jones and Samantha Bee, the Canadian-born actors known for their roles in The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, have signed up to create a sitcom for CBS, Variety reported on Tuesday. Jones, originally from Hamilton, and Bee, who hails from Toronto, will co-write the script for the as-yet-unnamed comedy. They also will take starring roles. Jones will play a celebrity chef and Bee will play one of two women who run his cooking empire. Bee and Jones, who are a married couple, are both senior correspondents for political satire on The Daily Show, a role that involves both writing and appearing on screen. They currently live in Manhattan. Bee, who began her comedy career with Toronto troupe the Atomic Fireballs, joined The Daily Show in 2003. Jones worked with Canadian sketch comedy troupe the Bobroom and appeared in Queer as Folk and Public Domain before joining the Daily Show in 2005. The couple also co-created the film Cooper's Camera. Other Daily Show alumni include Steve Carrell and Stephen Colbert. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Like TV only smarter.
