FremantleMedia's legal department's bearing down on the Palazio Men's
Club for promoting a stripper contest as "Stripper Idol," complete
with an imitation of their show's logo:

A few weeks ago, the theater company in Chicago that I'm with did a
reading of a script for our children's theater series called "Aztec
Idol"--I am very relieved that the script is going to have to be
rewritten and the whole premise of an "Idol"-ish talent show
spotlighting ethnic music didn't work (even considering that the
audience for the reading asked to do audience participation as the
"judges" was up to 50 years over the piece's target audience)--I came
right out and said that if you're not going to do caricatures of
Simon, Randy and Paula, why even bother with references to "Idol?"
