Please no spoilers from the third season.
I bought the second season of "Dexter" and finished it this morning. The
first four or five episodes of this season were pretty much as good as
television gets, I thought. That Dexter was being investigated by his own
sister, his sister was falling for the guy leading the investigation into
Dexter, Dexter had a copycat admirer, and all the other wicked subplots were
just so delicious.
But all that artistic foreplay had a disappointing climax. Just too forced,
too preposterous. I could believe the first episodes, but not the last. The
Sgt. Doakes-as-a-hostage to whom Dexter bares his soul seems like a mediocre
soap opera. Just too many coincidences who Doakes runs into.
Any one else have the same reaction?
