BAFTA got plenty *wrong* this year, including an unforgiveably bad edited sequence of Terry Gilliam film clips when he was given the Fellowship (BAFTA's biggest award), but I think the In Memorium sequence is much better handled than this year's Oscars.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh49uPk3lZI Obviously, as it's British, the line-up's a little different (no Don LaFontaine here either), I prefer using select dialogue clips as we get here. Mind you, the worst bit of the Oscars for me were the actorly soliliquies. I found them so gut-wrenchingly saccharine that I actually changed channels and only switched back when I thought the award was about to be announced. I *really* did this. It was abominable and if they continue it, I fear I'll never be able to watch again (not that the Oscars are that easy to watch here in the UK, with the Academy selling them to Sky and Sky putting them on one of its premium movie channels - only repeating them later on "basic" Sky One).
