That's because Glenn "Lonesome Rhodes" Beck has been on Fixed Noise
since the beginning of the year.
Of course, booking a radio talk host is the easy way out--and people
in cable news are way, way too used with the easy way out. (And yes,
even if they book Stephanie Miller or Amy Goodman.)
And to the idiot who was hoping that no one from NPR would get on
CNN: NPR only produces live one call-in talk show, which would be
"Talk of the Nation." (They do distribute Diane Rehm from WAMU
Washington and Tom Ashbrook from WBUR Boston--and "Car Talk" isn't
live.) Therefore, the only NPR talent fitting the category would be
Neal Conen and whoever's doing "Science Friday" now (Robert
Krulwich?). And I wouldn't object to seeing either of them on CNN.
