ISTR that a few stations went as early as 4:00 early in the 00s and
didn't find enough of an audience to make it worth their while, but I
suspect that New York has enough people with very long commutes to
have an audience.

Being a night owl myself, I fail to see the point of just about any
live television before 8 AM.
