I don't know who to "blame" for that - presumably Conan was involved in the design, but from day one it was clearly too big, it lacked any perceivable charm, and it was located too far away from anything to let Conan really interact with his environment. He did the show from a major Hollywood studio steeped in tradition and flooded with tourists, yet it could have been a porno studio in Reseda. I guess nobody wanted to give up the high rent space, but it would have been more fun to have him do the show from a studio that lined the actual CityWalk, where he could step outside the door and interact with all of the people. -- TV or Not TV ....
