Conan is taking a salary cut and will do the show cheaper (Max and the band will probably only play original songs or public domain) and he and Fox want an 11 p.m. start (sorry, Roger Ailes and Shep Smith), but there are differences on ownership (both sides want sole ownership) and there is the problem of affiliates who've committed to syndicated programming (not just the shows that can run earlier in the day, but shows like "Entourage," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "Weeds" that can only run in late-night--not counting the already-in-syndication "Sex and the City," "South Park" and "Reno 911!") and don't want to give up extra money to Fox for Conan:
