I do wonder if #4 (The Beatles) is all, since they don't usually have
big announcements for single things. As for my thoughts on the
others...

1. The conventional wisdom seems to be that streaming/cloud based
iTunes is pretty unlikely because there isn't any buzz coming from the
recording industry about it. Also, I wonder whether they think there
would be any money to be made through that, when iPods are as cheap as
they are. I think that the only real change to the existing structure
in the foreseeable future would be flat-priced unlimited downloads,
but I think we would have heard about that before now because there
are too many moving parts to keep something like that from leaking.

2. I think that longer song samples have already been announced. Up
from 30 to 90 seconds, from what I recall.

3. Maybe, given that Jobs and Zuckerburg were said to have met, but
Ping and Facebook didn't really start off well, after FB disabled
Apple's access for overloading its servers.

5. As far as upgraded software goes, I'd seen a blog post last week
speculating that iOS 4.2 for iPad and iPhone was going to be released
on Friday, but it hasn't happened yet. Makes me wonder if the timing
and announcement are connected or not. Jobs seems to like to do the
bit where he announces some huge thing and then it's available
immediately for download. It's happened with the last several upgrades
to Apple software products on both OS X and iOS.

6. Seems like any new product would have been announced at the last
big Apple event when the iPod and MacBook lines were refreshed.

7. I don't know what acquisitions are out there that would matter to
the consumer on the day they're announced, besides the Beatles
catalog.
