Years ago when I was in college, the HBO movie version of Bill
Carter's Late Shift aired. I wanted to watch it, but didn't have the
extra cash to fork over for an HBO subscription. I called what was
then Adelphia and asked their operator if I could subscribe for a week
or two. She recommended that I subscribe the day of the movie, then
call the next day and cancel the subscription stating someone claiming
to be me had ordered HBO. I asked her if that was alright, and she
said of course -- she did it all the time.

Of course, those were the days before calls "may be monitored for
quality assurance."
