Although WLS, where Winfrey's been on at 9 a.m. every weekday since
she took over "AM Chicago" in 1984, will air her final first-run show
on May 25 (the last day of May sweeps--it's a Wednesday) in that time
slot, instead of waiting for fall they are going to debut their new
local morning show "Morning Rush" (which they say they have no
intentions for syndication) shortly thereafter, although they will
carry the summer reruns at 11:05 p.m. through the summer (which means
that Kimmel fans in Chicago will have to wait until fall to finally
watch him at 11:05):

WLS has decided to go with two relative unknowns for "Morning Rush":
WLS sportscaster Ryan Chiaverini and WGN early morning anchor and
traffic reporter Valerie Warner. We shall see. (And I thought Oprah
was going to air her last show as a first run in September, on the
last day of the contract.)
