Like the comment at the end of the article, I question why Criterion would end its relationship with Netflix. Hulu clearly allows other content to be distributed on other websites and formats, so I doubt it is an exclusive licensing deal. If it is, Criterion is taking quite a gamble by choosing Hulu over Netflix.
And -- again -- the mention of Hulu becoming a pay-only website. I think conservative estimates stated they'd lose more than 90% of the traffic to the site if they did that (less conservative estimates point to closer to 98%). Maybe they can turn a profit that way, but they'll alienate a lot of people in the process.
