My first review in a while is of a film screened earlier this week at my school (full disclosure: the director of the film works in the same building, though I don't actually know him). "Certifiably Jonathan" was roundly dissed by Roger Ebert, mostly because they didn't produce the sort of film Ebert seemed to want. The thing is, they didn't produce ANY sort of film. Nevertheless, the subject of the film is Jonathan Winters. He isn't long for this world, so for fans of his or fans of improv in general, I'd commend the film to your attention. It opens next week in limited release.
