I don't recall any precedent for something like that.  There've been significant tragedies that occurred during dark weeks in the past, and no special accommodations were made...most notably (to me, anyway) Johnny Carson's passing happened during a vacation week and not a peep was heard from Dave or Worldwide Pants (beyond the requisite comments to the press by the show's PR people) until the show returned with new episodes the following week.

With The Late Show in repeats this week, any chance that CBS would repeat this show?

And, here is Dave's interview with Wheldon this June just after he won the 500, where he came across so likable: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToKHtVtG59A

I thought I had remembered him talking about the changes to the car, and he does here, and also Dave keeps teasing him about not having a ride for the rest of the year. It closes, poignantly now, with the milk shower.
