I don't think that is quite fair. The WH Beat is not exactly the forum for hard core journalism, and the current newtork correspondents may not exactly be hall of famers, but I don't think they are jokes, and I think they are all competent to good political journalists. From our friends at Wiki (with all usual caveats): ABC: Jake Tapper. Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in history. Washington correspondent for Salon.com from 1999 to 2002, CBS: Norah O'Donnell. Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and a masters degree in international affairs from Georgetown University. Staff writer for Roll Call NBC: Chuck Todd. Attended George Washington University from 1990 to 1994; although he majored in political science and minored in music, he did not graduate. Adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University. From 1992 until March 12, 2007, worked for National Journal's The Hotline, where he was editor-in-chief for six years. <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chuck_Todd#cite_note-12> -- TV or Not TV ....
