Another possible complication was that the deal wasn't finalized until this 
weekend, and with Thursday games this season, it wasn't clear if refs would 
return in time for this 'weekend's' games.  The commissioner lifted the lockout 
for the refs to work Thursday's game, and no deal was official at that time.
