The worst part for the cable news networks is that they missed out on some amazing television. No matter what side of the debate you are on, it was impossible to take your eyes off the stream, and the crowd in the gallery simply refusing to let the Republican majority push through what they felt was an unjust vote was a triumphant display of Civil Disobedience. It actually made this transplanted Yankee proud to be a Texan.
Even more shameful was that the local stations here in the Dallas-Fort Worth area gave it only the obligatory coverage and cut to the late night shows after their news broadcasts right as the action in statehouse was reaching the critical point.
