Subject: [TV orNotTV] Oscar Music Branch Gets Untelevised Concert

 

On Thurs. Feb. 27, three days before the Oscarcast, the Academy will put on
an (as of now) untelevised concert at UCLA's Royce Hall with the nominees
for Best Song performed by the original artists (hopefully) and the
composers conducting a symphony orchestra in excerpts from the nominees for
Best Original Score--which could fully relieve the Academy from having to
have the nominated songs performed on the big show itself, unless a big hit
song is nominated:
