Years ago, Clay asked his fans not to defend him (because it usually does
more harm than good), and almost everyone now complies with that request.
Here's what I posted on a message board:

Yeah. If it had happened 3 years ago -- when Glee was at the height of its
popularity -- I would've been pissed that Adam, and not Clay, got the
opportunity. I thought this quote from Adam in the Hollywood Reporter was
funny: he feels the scripted singing series..."really paints a picture of
what it's like to be an arts kid in high school."

because it couldn't be further from the truth. Glee is the least realistic
show on TV. My guess is that he probably won't appear on more than a couple
of episodes.

Clay recently proved that he's actually a fine actor in a non-singing role
in The Drowsy Chaperone, in a North Carolina Theater production that was as
good as anything I've seen on Broadway, and yesterday it was announced that
he'll be Joseph in The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at a theater in Maine
next month. These are demanding roles, more demanding than anything he
could do on Glee. Anyone know of a cheap place to stay in Maine, one with
an ocean view?

Melissa--are you going to respond to idiot commenter Danny Torrence in the
original link? (Guess who he mentions, TONT regulars.)
