It's not that surprising that after all of the hype, "Marvel's Agents of
S.H.I.E.L.D." pulled almost 12M viewers last night for ABC--less than
"NCIS"' season premiere, but still impressive, but NBC's "The Blacklist"
pulled in more total viewers Monday night. However, "S.H.I.E.L.D." did
better in the demos, which once again is not surprising:

On the other hand, ABC's new 10 p.m. drama "Lucky 7," about a bunch of
blue-collar lottery winners, was the lowest-rated premiere in Alphabet
history. In fact, the audience started dropping off as soon as
"S.H.I.E.L.D." ended, with "Trophy Wife" at 9:30 dropping off substantially
from "The Goldbergs" at 9. And over at Fox, "Dads" got creamed by the
competition and its lead-out "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" had a slightly bigger
audience, but it still pulled in more viewers than "The Mindy Project" (and
it's Seth MacFarlane and an in-house show while "Mindy"'s from Universal,
so don't count it out yet).

BTW, when I watched the first few minutes of "Ironside" the other day (I'm
only going back to it to watch the wonderful Chicago actress Carrie Coon,
who's in the pilot as a guest star), along with being unable to find the
Quincy Jones theme music in the five-second title sequence, I noticed a
"Universal Television Presents" credit. Since I don't recall seeing it in
the titles for "Mindy"'s season premiere, I presume that this is NBC's
equivalent to the "An ABC Studios Production" credit on in-house ABC shows
that replaces the ABC Studios "3:30/4:30 Movie" logo and that it's only on
NBC shows from Universal (or maybe even cable Networks of NBCU--although
those would probably say "Universal Cable Productions Presents"). And is
there an ABC Studios credit in the titles of "S.H.I.E.L.D.," or does it
begin with the Marvel logo?
