Regardless, I think that for a minute-long commercial, they did a good job with it. They made the show seem exciting and made it clear that Fallon is heir to a great tradition. And anything that can educate the public on the history of one of the most important programs in the history of television, even if only briefly, is a good thing. On a related issue: a couple weeks ago, I overheard a co-worker in his twenties saying that he didn't like Sean Connery. Okay, I thought, everyone's entitled to an opinion... until he went on to reveal that he's never actually seen a Sean Connery movie, and was basing his opinion of Connery on Darrell Hammond's impression of Connery from the SNL "Celebrity Jeopardy" skit. It's amazing how ignorant the populace is of "popular culture." A little education, even a little, is a good thing. -Tim
