I'm not so sure this IS a win for Kimmel (or SCG, or Conan, for that matter). Consider what's in NYC aside from "Tonight" and "Late Show":
- Late Night - SNL - TDS - Colbert - All three major network morning shows - Kelly & Michael - Major studio operations for all major cable news outlets - SXM (including Howard Stern) - Olbermann (for those sports-inclined night owls) Contrast that with what's left in LA, apart from Kimmel/Conan/Ferguson: - All varieties of televised entertainment "news" (ET, Access Hollywood, Extra, etc.) - E! - Ellen (and other LA-produced syndies) - Real Time I'm sure I'm leaving shows/outlets off both lists, but it seems to me like that trekking out to NY won't be viewed as a worthless trip from a PR perspective. (Although I should ask my wife's cousin - she's a partner at PR house in Hollywood...)
