According to a report this morning in Tom Taylor's radio newsletter, "Joe Piscopo lands the permanent morning gig at Salem's New York City talk "970 the Answer" WNYM Hackensack. The comic and Saturday Night Live alumnus has been filling in there since Curtis Sliwa decamped for Cumulus-owned talk WABC (770), to re-form the "Curtis & Kuby" act. Piscopo's profile should be raised later this year, when he appears on a reality TV show. For now, he needs an alarm clock, to get into WNYM for his 6-9am radio show. Salem VP/Spoken Word Format Phil Boyce says Joe will deliver "a very connected morning show in the nation's top market." GM Jerry Crowley says there's already been a positive response from listeners and advertisers."
