TV Land, the channel whose most popular original programming is multi-cam
sitcoms starring middle-aged stars-and-older of other multi--cam sitcoms,
has ordered for pilot a one-camera series based on the former Chicago
twenty-and-thirtysomething all-woman improv troupe the Katydids' web series
"Teachers," the episodic misadventures of a group of schoolteachers--Alison
Brie of "Community" is trophy producer of the cable version, the Katydids
are so named because their first names are some version of "Katy" or "Kate"
or "Katherine," etc.:

Although the comments include some of the usual putdowns (the link includes
a sizzle reel of the web series), I find it interesting that there are not
classic TV fans complaining about original series on TVL, considering that
there are still some articles on AMC out there that have old movie fans
complaining about the current version of the channel.
