In the UK Murdoch has "Sky Sports News HQ" - a 24 hour sports news channel - which will have covered it extensively. But I doubt even they ran ten hours straight though! In fact many hours were carried live by the domestic BBC News channel - I'm not sure if its sister BBC World News channel carried it quite as extensively though. And I suspect that the Murdoch owned Sky News carried it too. But then in Britain, this deals with our national sport!
In fact, FIFA and/or an agency deliver a complete feed anyway for these sorts of things, so from a production perspective it's not too onerous to carry.
