Speaking of Jeopardy, one of my Facebook friends, someone I’ve known for years, recently announced that she will be on Jeopardy. Only one thing surprises me about her announcement – her age. She’s even a few years older than I am. Is Jeopardy still doing a seniors’ tournament? BTW she is absolutely one of the smartest, sharpest people I’ve ever met. Plus, she’s extremely personable. Yeah, I was scratching my head as that ending unfolded. She was in third, with less than half the money of the other two players, who wound up tied with each other. So she had no chance of catching them unless they both answered incorrectly. And they were both forced to bet it all, to keep up with the other, in case both answered correctly. #3’s only chance was to hope both of them answered incorrectly and lost all of their money, in which case her best option was to bet nothing…or at least don’t bet *everything*. And sure enough, everybody played the odds and stuck with that scenario…except #3, so she was sent home along with the other two.
