WTF - this is a cruel name, as it got my hopes up of a revival of the show about 10 years with the immortal doctor (not the one who was a coroner,, on ABC, but the one on Fox) that I really liked.
Bellevue did and does have a large psychiatric clinic, which I believe serves mostly low income folks. But Alice probably is responsible for many people assuming it was primarily a psychiatric hospital. One of the most commonly given individual IQ tests was also developed there, and the first version includes Bellevue in the name. *************** 10-11 P.M. — NEW AMSTERDAM--Standard issue medical drama inspired by New York's Bellevue, which I think most people still think is an insane asylum from memories of Alice Kramden telling Ralph that he should be going there.
