Earlier in the week he pulled the “you sound good, I didn’t think you could be 
as good as last night’s audience but this is definitely a (Thursday?) audience” 
bit. So maybe he skipped another day last week and was taping SOMETHING on 
Friday. I notice that while some shows are listed as in repeats for the 
Memorial Day week, the Late Show is listed as new. So maybe they are taping 
ahead.

Could have been crew serving as an audience for the sake of that segment, 
sweetened but he audio guys to sound like a full house at the Ed...

Did they have a studio audience for another reason on Friday or was the 
audience reaction a bit of “television magic” ?
