Earlier in the week he pulled the “you sound good, I didn’t think you could be as good as last night’s audience but this is definitely a (Thursday?) audience” bit. So maybe he skipped another day last week and was taping SOMETHING on Friday. I notice that while some shows are listed as in repeats for the Memorial Day week, the Late Show is listed as new. So maybe they are taping ahead.
