The real problem is that they're romanticizing the movie theater
experience. Once the theaters became multiplexed and the layout made the
profit generating concession counters a central attraction it stopped
feeling like worth going out of my way for to see a movie. If filmmakers
want their movies to be seen and not have their box office crushed by
franchise releases their only alternative is the streaming market.
