I suspect the reason is they are throwing everything at the wall to see
what sticks. Cable is dying, but advertising isn’t going away, so there is
interest in seeing if any form of ad-supported model will still work.

The only reason I discovered Leverage was because most of the cast and
creative team were from the Librarian movies and subsequent Librarians
series, which I quite enjoyed.
