Vancouver's CKKS, owned by Canadian media giant Rogers, did the old stunt of playing one song over and over and over earlier this week (said song being Rage Against the Machine's "Killing in the Name") as a transition from hot adult contemporary "Kiss FM" to alt-rock "Sonic." Because the firing of some veteran DJs was part of it, social media went crazy and legacy media who don't really cover radio anymore thought it was some sort of rebellion at the station, especially when they put on the air phone calls with people talking to the engineers about the stunt.
