According to the Wiki, both Jost and Che were listed as head writers of the 
show from 2017 through the end of last season.

…But I disagree with her. I found most of the show lame when not incoherent. 
Unlike Wicks I thought Kendrick Lamar was one of the few bright spots. 
I’m trying to remember a season when there was such a huge gap between the 
quality of the sketches and the quality of Weekend Update. I thought Colin Yost 
and Michael Che really sparkled. I’m not sure if Yost is still the head writer 
of the show in general, but for whatever reason the intelligence and craft he 
and Che bring to WU are nowhere to be seen throughout the rest of the show.
