The meteorologist known for his detailed forecasts (which he almost always
got right) started out at the age of 14 on a radio station in suburban
Aurora and was one of WGN's national (in their cable superstation days)
drawing cards over most of his 45 years with the station, next to the Cubs
(and Harry Caray) and Bozo the Clown--at 71, he will retire from the
Nexstar indie at the end of February:

Harry Caray retired and has passed on, Bozo ended his over 50-year run a
decade ago and the Cubs left WGN in 2020 when the team and Sinclair started
the Marquee cable channel. And in a few months time, Skilling will be gone
from Chicago's Very Own Channel 9.
